Russell Norman
Russell Norman (1965-2023) was founder of the Polpo restaurants in London, where Venice cuisine has taken center stage for nearly 15 years. The book of the same name was Waterstones Book of the Year and Cookbook of the Year. Russell's second book, Spuntino, won the Guild of Food Writers Award. In 2021, Russell opened Trattoria Brutto, which has been fully booked every day since and is on the Bib Gourmand list. Russel was also a presenter and wrote for Esquire Magazine, among others. He died in November 2023 after a short illness, just after Brutto's worldwide publication.
