TASCHEN'S David Hockney: A Bigger Book is a SUMO-sized monograph. Marc Newson's book with bookstand is spectacular in size and scope. As an artist who rarely looks back, the massive volume is as much his own personal retrospective as it is a definitive record for art lovers around the world. "I don't tend to live in the past," he says, "while working on this book, I only see how much I've done."

The book's sumptuous portfolio is complemented by an illustrated chronology of more than 600 pages, which puts Hockney's art in context with drawings, graphic work, portrait photographs and text based on the artist's own writings and contemporary reviews.
